YOGA FOR EVERYBODY

I offer Vinyasa flow classes with an emphasis on the connection between mind, body and breath. I encourage intuitive body movement, self compassion, curiosity and wonder. My hope is that my classes will feel nurturing, comfortable and welcoming for everybody. I feel passionately about the inclusivity of yoga and about building community and connection.

I also offer classes in Pregnancy yoga, these are a wonderful opportunity to bond with your baby while helping you to prepare for your labour and birth. We’ll work on a variety of postures to gently and mindfully stretch and strengthen the body, helping to ease some of the common discomforts experienced during pregnancy. These classes are a great way of meeting other expectant mums too, building future community and support.

My Postnatal classes will help support your recovery in the weeks and months following the birth of your baby, we’ll work through a selection of gentle postures with an emphasis on restoring and rebalancing the body to aid recovery and regain strength and stability. All of my classes include breath work with enough time given for restful relaxation to finish.

I will shortly be offering classes in Mama & Baby yoga in the Wimbledon area, drop me an email or give me a call to find out more about these.

Reducing stress2022-10-23T15:54:14+01:00

The rhythm of linking our movements to our breathing helps to soothe the all to often unquiet mind and allows us to draw our focus inwards, this nourishes and calms the nervous system, and can help ease stress and anxiety. A little bit like pressing the reset button.

A regular vinyasa practice builds muscle and strength throughout the entire body, and assists balance, so important in helping ward off future injuries.

Moving with the breath during class increases the heart rate and heats the body, making it a great way to keep a healthy and happy heart.

Benefits and rewards2022-10-10T15:02:33+01:00

The variety of movements in a Vinyasa class means we often work with the whole body; this can really expand our range of motion, by moving in ways we don’t always move.

Working with the breath2022-10-10T14:49:06+01:00

Connecting with the breath helps us to move our attention inwards, to the centre of our being, to dip our toe in and learn to feel comfortable with the deep calmness, stillness and peace that’s within all of us.

Yoga can at times be physically challenging but it can be soft and gentle too. Over time, we learn to trust the wisdom of our own body, to move more intuitively and with a sense of allowing exploration and creativity to grow and flow. We learn to take what we need from this ancient discipline on any given day.

What is Vinyasa Flow yoga?2021-12-15T20:35:02+00:00

Vinyasa is a style of yoga where the poses are strung together to form a fluid sequence of movement. There is a focus on connecting the movements with the rhythm of the breath, a little bit like a moving meditation, which can in time feel very natural. Vinyasa means ‘to place in a special way’ or put more simply, in the context of a yoga posture, ‘to move with the breath’. This makes up the essence of my yoga classes.

TESTIMONIALS

I first came to Jules for private classes with the objective of trying to regain my strength after I gave up tideway rowing. Working with Jules was a real joy, she is positive, kind and focused. Every week I am amazed at how our class hugely uplifts both my mood and my power, but best of all she has cleverly build up the exercises in our private classes to enable me to join in the online group classes. Jules is a smart treasure and I am simply delighted to have found her.

Yoga with Jules always makes me feel so relaxed, energised and pain free. As someone who suffers with neck pain and headaches, Jules’ classes have helped me strengthen muscles throughout my entire body and improve flexibility and focus. Jules always takes great care to explain everything in detail, so I never feel confused; I’d highly recommend her classes to students of any level!

Jules is the best yoga instructor I’ve ever had! (I come from a running background so do not say that lightly). I joined Jules classes whilst on maternity leave and it was exactly what I needed. The outdoor garden setting Jules offers is perfect; I loved doing yoga surrounded by nature. Being able to continue the classes online during the cooler months is an added bonus. I always feel much more stretched, relaxed and refreshed after doing yoga with Jules.
